Big Summer Weekend

We had a really fun weekend wrapping up our last summer outings!

First up on our itinerary was Waffle House! Hahaha. Our kiddos love that place. And requested we get to go out as a family for breakfast before the summer was over. So first things first. 😊

After a huge breakfast for the Selph 5, we were off to Walmart for a few last minute school supplies.... and we let the boys pick out a new pack of baseball cards.... bringing our grand total to 834. #notexaggerating #maybealittle #theyareeverywhere

Our next stop was a trip to the movies to see Incredibles 2. 😊 We all enjoyed it and thought it was really good! There are a couple of bad words (ugh) but other than that it's super family friendly.

After the movie we had a chance to head home and got ready for AnAn's birthday celebration. These 4 enjoyed watching Wild Kratts for a bit while we waited on our food. (I promise they aren't staring at a phone the whole time we're at a restaurant, haha, this is just a sometimes perk while we wait.)

After a fun a delicious meal, we all went over to Granna's and Papa's house for cake and presents. 😊

We had so much fun celebrating the birthday girl and hanging out with family.

Then, on Sunday, we were off to the Braves game! We saw an awesome game, had a ton of fun, and had the best time watching our favorite team. It was the perfect way to wrap up our big summer weekend!

We got to see an almost no-hitter!! This picture was taken in the 9th inning with everyone standing and cheering (or holding their breath like I was). With 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, he gave up a hit (ahhhhhhhh!!), but we were so proud of our pitcher!! It was probably the most exciting game I've ever seen in person. It was super cool to be a part of.

After the game they showed Chipper Jones' Hall of Fame speech on the big screen so we watched that before getting in line to let our kiddos run the bases! You enter the field by the 3rd base dugout and walk the entire warning track around the outfield until you get to Homeplate. Our boys were thrilled!

On the field!! At SunTrust Park!! #starstruck 😊

The Braves dugout! Up close and in person.

Then it was time for our kiddos to run the bases. They loved every second!

They got a certificate and free Braves shirt for participating!

We had such a fun weekend and an awesome summer. I'm thankful for it all!

I'm back at work this week while my babies are enjoying their last week of summer with their grandparents. It's almost time!! Eeeeek! Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Friday Favorites: My Last Week of Summer!

I have had a really sweet last week of summer! We've tried to fit in all the things and have had a ton of fun enjoying the simple little perks of summertime. It's sad to see summer go but thankfully I'm not feeling any anxiety (at this point at least!), instead I'm just super excited about my 2nd year in PreK and a fabulous school year! Who would've ever thought I'd be saying anything of the such?!? Haha. #Goddid

Here are my favorite happenings from my last week of summer...

*Monday was AnAn's birthday and my mom decided to host a little breakfast get-together to celebrate! It was SO fun and such a great way to kick off our week!!

*The whole crew! 😊 It was just us girls plus the kiddos since all the guys were at work. It was a delicious and festive morning celebrating the birthday girl!

*My mom even put out lots of photo booth props... which the boys had a ball with....

#thatface Hahahaha! (My kids live in underwear now, ha)

*Harlie participated as well. 😊 We had a great morning together!

*The boys have played together the very best of the entire summer this week. (Figures. Sigh.) I've been sooo thankful!! All week they've enjoyed "bowling" with dominoes in the kitchen. Layton came up with the idea and after setting up all of their dominoes they take turns knocking them down using one of our "inside" balls. This new game has probably taken up hours of their play time this week.

*We spent some time in my classroom this week too! I've been busy trying to get a head start on things and my sweet para got our door ready for students! The only thing I have left to do is to add their names on the hot air balloons. Yay. 😊

*We also tackled our school supply shopping this week! #phew #alwaysanadventure We love Target for school supplies because everything is neat, organized, and NO CROWDS. So we are pretty much guaranteed a good experience. Or as good as possible with my 3 guys in tow. (Layton was present but not pictured). We also made a stop for the boys to pick out their first day of school shirt. I gave them free reign and they were excited to pick something out all by themselves.

*The boys have loved playing out in the driveway this week. Even in the heat! They've done all sorts of fun things outside and come in stinky, sweaty, and happy.

*We got to enjoy a play date with Piper this week too! The cousins had lots of fun together.

*Layton really put some miles on his motorcycle this week. He got it for Christmas and has been a cautious rider from time to time in the months since.... until this week. This week he became a pro. And the cutest motorcycle driver ever.

*These 3 have been sleeping the same room for most of this month.... and this week we decided to make it more permanent (an every night thing that they don't need permission for and it doesn't have to be a special night to happen). The Selph boys are thrilled. Mainly our littlest man. Haha. Garrison occasionally hangs out with his brothers in bed for a while before going to sleep in Layton's room, but most of the time they all choose to be together. And now that it's become a regular, nightly occurrence we decided we're good with it. It actually helps with the bedtime routine a ton and has so far stopped Layton's night terrors. So we're going with it!

*My boys FINALLY got haircuts this week and then we enjoyed an afternoon trip to DQ for ice cream. We had some drama leading up to our trip but all's well that ends well. 😊

*Layton Thomas. His silly face. 😊

*Pool time with my loves is the best! Especially when everyone is getting along. Especially then. Haha!

*Watching a show every night with this guy has been a favorite all summer. I've stayed up too late most nights, but that's just another summer perk!

*We've binge watched Seal Team for the past few weeks and LOVE it. We recorded it during the Fall with the intention of watching it this summer and it has not disappointed. We have 2 episodes left and then we'll be ready for the premiere in September or October!

This weekend we are looking forward to our "Big Summer Weekend" with the boys. We're planning to enjoy our last outings of summer before we head back to school and jump back into the busy and crazy that come with it. Happy Friday, Happy Weekend!!

Friday Favorites: Soccer and Baseball Edition

This week has been a good one. We have enjoyed a LOT of soccer and baseball this week and it's been confirmed to me again that I was just meant to be a boy mom. 😊 I feel incompetent to raise these wild, rough, LOUD boys lots of days, but when it comes to their love of sports and enthusiasm for our teams, we just get each other. All 5 of us. And it brings me so much joy and makes me feel so good about being extremely out-numbered. Ha!

Here's my faves from our week full of 2 of our favorite sports....

*On Sunday we took the boys to their very first Atlanta United game at Mercedes-Benz stadium! Back at the beginning of the summer we took them to see the team play at Kennesaw State but on Sunday they got to see the team play in MLS action at the coolest stadium ever. 😊

*It was SUPER crowded (another MLS attendance record), but we were there early (for the showing of the Final game of the World Cup) so we got to see the entire team arrive and walk in!! Garrison got to high five every single player!! (I may have been a tad more star struck than he.... just a tad.)

*The Golden Spike!

*We had so much fun! Layton got restless a few times but the 2nd half was super exciting and held his attention good. We came away with the tie but loved watching our team. Getting out of the stadium was craziness but we made over to the CNN Center for supper before getting back on Marta and then eventually getting home. Hopefully we can make this an every season tradition sort of like we do with the Braves.

*On Monday our biggest was off to soccer camp! He went to a brand new camp without knowing a soul and ending up having a great time. We were so proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone. The camp was half a day Monday through Thursday so it was a lot of shuffling back and forth but totally worth it for him to have such a great experience.

*Monday evening was all about the Home Run Derby at our house. We let the boys stay up late to watch the first round and they were SO into it. They knew every player (and their stats!) before they were even introduced. #baseballcardexperts It was so fun watching with my guys! We recorded it for them so they got to watch the final rounds Tuesday morning. 😊

*A lunch date with these 3 at our favorite pizza buffet was a definite highlight this week. I'm confident buffets are going to become quite regular with these growing boys.

*The All-Star game Tuesday night was another huge favorite for the Selph fam. We were all so proud of our Braves. The boys were so excited they were on the edge of their seats the whole time. Haha. This picture is the boys cheering and clapping for Nick Markakis during his first at-bat at his first ever All-Star game. We let them stay up a little late again and they finished watching the game on Wednesday morning.

*Layton has always been a sweat-er. Since he was a baby. Especially on his head. So after letting him and Austin play for a little while on the playground when we dropped off Garrison for soccer, his hair was sweaty and wet.... so he decided to style it crazy on the way home and was thrilled that it "stuck". Haha.

*Then Austin asked Layton to do his hair..... hahaha. Not the same effect but still pretty cute. 😊

*This week I had to take Austin to the dentist for a quick little procedure and both of his brothers had to come along to. #helpmeJesus So after some serious talks beforehand from both me and Terrell in terms of prepping everyone involved (be on your best behavior, stay quiet in the waiting room, no fighting, you cannot go back with Austin and mama, VERY best behavior, if you do a great job we might go to Dollar Tree afterwards, etc), I was still sweating a little going in. But God's favor was upon me. Austin did awesome and the other brothers in the waiting room were amazing as well! So they got to take that trip to Dollar Tree (which should be noted played a KEY role helping Layton Thomas stay motivated). The trip to Dollar Tree where they were able to spend $5-$6 each appeared to be one of the highlights of their summer. Ha!! We appreciate the little things. 😊 And well behaved boys in dentist offices!!

*Baseball cards from Dollar Tree are the BEST. #traders #cardpros

*This right here is still a dream come true. We love our pool time and it's a favorite every single week!!

This weekend we're doing a lot around the house.... yardwork (Terrell), buying groceries (me), swimming (all of us), tackling a school project for my classroom (me), cleaning house a little (all of us.... mainly me), going to church (all of us). and enjoying our downtime at home. 😊 Happy Friday!!
