Celebrating #9

On Saturday we spent the entire day celebrating Garrison's 9th birthday with his 7th birthday outing in a row. 😊 A birthday outing for each boy sometime around their birthday is our favorite "gift" to our birthday boys. This year we decided to go to several places Garrison had mentioned recently and spent the whole day making Garrison's favorite pit stops. Even though it wasn't a big outing, it was still so much fun for the whole family and Garrison really loved his day. Yay!!

We slept in Saturday morning before getting ready for our 1st stop of the day.... our new public library! After our trip a few weeks ago Garrison told us he wanted to go back soon. He LOVED the selection at our public library and we knew he'd be thrilled with another trip. All 3 boys were thrilled. #welovebooks They had the best time and loved every second and our birthday boy was super excited to find 4 chapter books he'd been wanting to read!

Our next stop was our brand new Dollar Tree. Haha! You know you live in a small town when getting a Dollar Tree is a BIG deal. (And it's got to be one of a teacher's best friends!! 😊) After Garrison got lots of birthday money at his party he requested to visit our newest store. So we did! And mama may have loved it most of all. Hahaha! The boys all used their own money and picked out a few things.... mainly new packs of football cards! It was a successful trip indeed.

We left Dollar Tree and asked Garrison what he wanted for lunch. He narrowed it down to 3 places and finally decided on Taco Bell. My kids loooove a Taco Bell. So our next stop was lunch and then we were on to Sky Zone!

Sky Zone was the "big" outing/pit stop of the day. Terrell and I had never been but the boys have gone with their grandparents a few times and LOVE this place. Anytime we're trying to think of something fun to do or making some plans to get out of the house, they always suggest Sky Zone. So this was the perfect addition to Garrison's day.

They had a blast!

Flipping into the pit....

Jumping into the pit....

And peering out of the pit.... hahaha! We had the best time. They loved dodge ball best of all I think (there are 2 separate areas and age groups for dodge ball so they were safe, haha) and spent their last 30 minutes playing. It was pretty perfect. 😊

Once we left Sky Zone we took Garrison to Walmart because BIRTHDAY MONEY. This was a request he mentioned along with Dollar Tree. Birthday money to spend is the best and warrants a trip. He picked out a new beyblade stadium, new sports cards, and some candy, with money left over! We spent a WHILE browsing the Walmart. Thankfully it was clean and wasn't crowded!!

We left Walmart and went across the street for fro-yo.... because if you know Garrison, you know sweets and/or ice cream are part of his love language. 😊 Yum!! We had such a fun day together and loved celebrating our birthday boy. We got home Saturday evening and crashed. It was an awesome day!

Then, on Monday morning we woke up our NINE YEAR OLD! 9 balloons in his bed along with lots of birthday greetings and hugs!

Once everybody got dressed we came down for our traditional birthday breakfast.... doughnuts!!

The maple doughnut from our local Doughnut Palace is his favorite. And this year instead of trying to cram 9 candles on his doughnut and risking the doughnut catching fire, haha, we went with 3. And Garrison thought it was perfect because 3x3=9. 😊

While we were singing to him and he got ready to blow out his candles and eat his doughnut I had big time flashbacks to years ago when the doughnut tradition began. Oh my 4 year old baby! (This will be Layton on Monday morning!)

These birthday traditions are my favorite. The rest of the day on Monday was pretty typical other than Garrison choosing our meal for supper (mama's tacos! haha!) and him receiving lots of phone calls, text messages, and video messages. And today he's taking a cookie cake to school to top off his birthday week. 😊

We are so excited to see Friday this morning! I am spent thanks to working all week while still being under the weather and waking up during the night coughing or congested. Boo. I'm hoping my new meds will do the trick!

This weekend is back to full blown party planning and prep! Layton's 4th birthday and party are right around the corner!! Have a great one!
