5 Months Old

My baby boy is 5 months old. Whoa. Is is possible? This was the first month I put him down by his lion to make his picture (which isn't good quality by the way because the setting on my camera was wrong... but he's napping now so I'll have to redo them later) and thought, he is getting so big. His looks are changing and he's getting so big. Garrison was my helper and got him to smile a few times, so the pajama foot you see in the last picture of Austin belongs to big brother. The last picture is actually of Garrison at 5 months. Sweet babies. I'll treasure these pictures forever.

Stats and Happenings This Month:

*I'm guessing you weigh about 18 lbs and are around 26-27 inches long. We don't go back to the doctor until next month, so those are just guesstimates.


*You are still wearing 6 months clothes and just a few 3-6 months, but we've moved on to size 3 diapers.


*You had a growth spurt this month that caused you to wake up once during the night several times a week, so we introduced oatmeal cereal. You're loving it and doing great with it so I'm sure we'll be introducing more baby food soon.


*You're back on track sleeping through the night. Yay! You typically fall asleep between 8:00-8:30 after a fussy spell and wake up between 7:00-7:45. Double yay!


*Your naps are finally consistent/predictable/regular... and wonderful.


*This month we started reading you short board books. You love grabbing the book and looking at the pictures.


*You found your feet this month. I love watching you grab onto those toes!


*You adore your big brother. You love to watch him play, laugh with him and at him, and talk to him. Ya'll are so precious together!


*You're still teething, but no signs of teeth yet. You are always gnawing on your hands or one of your toys and are a drooling machine.


*You still spit up regularly but lately it's been either a whole lot or not much at all. Maybe you're getting ready to be done with all that reflux business.


*You make us smile and melt our hearts every single day! Happy Birthday to one of our greatest blessings! We love you Austin!!
