Garrison Cade,
Today you are 3 years old! 3!! 3 whole years ago we welcomed you to our family and fell in love with you, our precious gift from God. I guess I'll feel amazed and surprised and a little emotional and totally overjoyed every year on your birthday. You first made me a mama and I am so, so blessed to have you as my son... and daddy's number 1 fan... and Austin's awesome big brother.
This year has been a big year for you. You learned how to go to the potty, sleep in a big boy bed, spend the night with your grandparents, jump in the pool, and take on the role of big brother. You started watching Mickey Mouse and short movies (that are an hour or less). Your appetite decreased just a little and you became more picky with your food. You discovered "zert" (dessert) and developed a sweet tooth just like your mama. You enjoyed the mountains, the beach, Disney World, Chick-Fil-A's playground, and feeding the ducks. It was a fun year for you... and mama and daddy too.
This year has also included some growing pains. You're learning that mama and daddy are still in charge and are always more stubborn than you are. You've challenged us and tested your boundaries and struggled with meltdowns a lot. But despite all those growing pains and tough times, your personality has remained sweet and loving and you continue to have such a big heart. You are affectionate, thoughtful, caring, and compassionate. We're always amazed at just how loving and caring you are... something we see on a daily basis as you interact with Austin. We feel sooo blessed to call you our baby boy and are so excited to celebrate you turning 3 years old!
Now, for all the tidbits and highlights and fun facts I'll always want to remember~
*You typically start your day about 8:00 every morning and are in the bed falling asleep, all done with books, songs, prayers, a drink of milk, etc. by 8:00 or 8:15 every night.

*You typically start your day about 8:00 every morning and are in the bed falling asleep, all done with books, songs, prayers, a drink of milk, etc. by 8:00 or 8:15 every night.
*You take a nap every afternoon... sometimes it lasts 2.5 hours, sometimes 45 minutes. (Although this past week when you were sick you actually didn't take a nap 2 days in a row.)
*Your favorite foods are raisins, tacos, spaghetti, chili, chicken nuggets and fruit cups from "Chicken Flay", grapes, pears, cereal bars, and cereal... plus Fruit Jammers and Little Debbie donuts. You take full advantage of the fact that your Papa is a Little Debbie man.
*Your favorite person ever is daddy. You are a big time daddy's boy and love playing with him and being his helper. You always request mama at bedtime or when you're sick or hurt, but daddy is definitely your favorite person... besides Austin.
*You are in love with your baby brother. You hug and kiss on him all the time... sometimes a little too rough. You love making him laugh and showing him your toys and talking to him. We are so proud of what a great big brother you are.
*You watch 1-2 episodes of Mickey Mouse almost everyday.
*You love tools, trains, dump trucks, bulldozers, balls, books, and puzzles.
*You love being read to and pick out 2 books to read everyday before your nap and every night before bedtime.
*You have an amazing memory and can recite several Bible stories for memory.
*You are super smart!
*And most of all, you are loved more than you know!! Happy Birthday sweet boy!!!

I can't believe Garrison is 3! The more I read about how helpful Garrison is with Austin the more I'm convinced I want to wait a little longer before trying for #2. Not that I'm anywhere close to being ready to be pregnant again...I just kind of want my kids close in age...although the thought right now more than wears me out!
They are almost exactly 2 years and 7 months a part. Even though I was disappointed at first because I wanted them closer, now I love it. We'll see how it goes once they start school and the gap widens a little more because of Austin's September birthday. I do highly recommend potty training and a big girl bed before baby #2 arrives though. =) You will be great! Congraulations on your happy camper and job opportunity!!
