Our baby boy, our littlest man, our 3rd born baby turned FOUR on Monday! My heart can hardly believe Layton Thomas is 4 already!! Born 5 years and 1 week after his oldest brother, February is a month of celebrations around here. We are busy and partying all month long.
February 12, 2014 at 3:00 PM he made his debut in the middle of a major Winter storm. We became a party of 5 and have never been the same. We are so thankful God gave us this sweet, loud, wild, silly, happy, affectionate bundle of joy!!
He stole our hearts from the very beginning.
And we all have been loving watching him grow ever since. 😊 From baby...
To toddler....
To preschooler. Everyday is a little sweeter.... louder.... crazier.... and more fun because Layton is ours.
Life with Layton at 4....
*You start the day bright and early on school mornings and typically sleep the latest on weekends. Somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00 is about your record. 😊
*You started preschool this year and love it! You have several friends you talk about often and we are excited about all you are learning! As much as you're enjoying preschool, you can't wait to attend big school with mama and brothers next year!
*You are a big time mama's boy and still love extra time and cuddles with me.
*Your brothers are your favorite and you LOVE playing with them. You are definitely the most independent "player" of all 3 boys and can be content by yourself plenty, but you love to play with your big brothers most of all.
*You are our pickiest eater and eat lots of random assortments of things. I'm already trying to come up with ideas of things to pack in your lunchbox when you start school next year! Breakfast is probably your favorite meal of the day and you can put away some cereal. You eat a huge breakfast every morning! Lunch and supper are a little more challenging but you love tacos, spaghetti, yogurt, fruit and veggie squeezes, freeze dried fruit, bread, carrots and ranch, crackers, pretzels, and chips.
*You still take a nap on school days and try to hang with your big brothers for "rest time" on the weekends and school breaks. You still fall asleep in the car pretty easily and you still wake up during the night from time to time.
*You love superheroes and playing superheroes. Dressing up and wearing a costume and mask is one of your favorite hobbies. You also love Power Rangers, beyblades, sports cards, motorcycles, Blaze, tractors, playing games, and being outside. Playing outside is probably your most favorite thing ever.
*You spend a good bit of time with Piper and the two of you have the cutest relationship. She is like a little sister to you and you're like an older brother to her. 😊
*You are getting ready to start your first season of tee-ball and you are sooo excited. You've been waiting your turn to play for years and are thrilled you will be on daddy's team with Austin.
*You love books and being read to and you are able to recognize most of the letters of the alphabet and you are learning how to write your name. You are doing great with counting and recognizing numbers and you are super proud of what you make and do at school.
*You still love to be sang to each night before bed and a few of your favorite requests are Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children, The B-I-B-L-E, and I've Been Working on the Railroad. 😊
*You love any and all modes of transportation and are totally fascinated by the real thing, toys of all types of transportation, and those you see on TV. You are all boy! Rough, loud, and lover of things that go!
You are such a special gift to our family and we are all smitten with you and SO thankful God made you ours. We love you more than you'll ever know! Happy 4th Birthday Layton Thomas Selph!!!
